The goal of this project was to create a psychological portrait of Guillermo del Toro that captured the complexity of his persona beyond the visual icons associated with his filmography. The challenge was to avoid the temptation to include his most recognizable creatures or characters and instead explore the human and creative essence of the director: what drives his imagination, his sensitivity, and his unique way of inhabiting the fantastic. The intention was to create an image that spoke about him, not about his work.
