The mother’s torso, from the middle of her face to her waist, symbolizes a space of warmth and refuge. Her chest represents love, care, and protection. Within it, an empty space conveys the pain and the emptiness left by the loss of her husband and the conflict among her children. In front of this emptiness, she holds her husband’s urn in her hands. Fire emerges as a central element in the story, present both in the cremation process and in the final result, without explicitly revealing its meaning to the viewer. Its presence adds an extra layer of drama to the image. A neutral color palette, dominated by whites and grays, recalls the clothing seen in the short film. At the center, the fire and the urn contrast with the rest, accentuating the emotional weight of the scene.
INHERITANCE
Client: Patel Pictures
Official Key Art
Roles: Creative and Art Direction, Illustrator, Designer
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Patel Pictures needed key art for their short film Inheritance, in which, after the cremation of their father, three siblings return home, where latent tensions resurface when their mother reveals an unexpected decision about the house where they grew up. They were looking for a concept-style key art similar to the pieces in my portfolio such as Poor Things, Society of the Snow, or Eric. There was also a premise to avoid showing two specific scenes from the short.
THE CONCEPT

A selection of examples showing how the Key Art could work in rrban OOH displays.
